  • mentioned as one of The Austin Chronicle’s “Top 10 Bands To Watch” in 2007, mice and rifles earned an invitation to perform at the Big State Festival in Bryan, Texas with the likes of Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen

  • 2008, mice and rifles was performing regularly in Houston and Austin, maintaining their high-energy assault on “Alt-Country”, and earned an invitation to perform at the Long Center for the Performing Arts 2008 Opening Gala
  • Original tracks “Carefree Americans” and “Balance” were featured in the independent horror film “Live Animals” (Winner of Audience Choice Award at Memphis International Film Festival 2009)
  • Original tracks “Carefree Americans” and “Storms”featured in the Independent Short “Ki-Hi-Ka Ste’: Life of Chief George Tall Chief” 
  • After a brief hiatus from 2009-2011, mice and rifles reemerged in 2012, circulating among Austin and Houston venues including Stubb’s, The Mohawk, Lamberts, Frank, Rudyard’s and Club DeVille. This is mice and rifles.
  • Writing and performing in these modern times while being naturally drawn to a bygone era of folk and country music, Mice and Rifles is heavily influenced by the grit of such recording artists as Johnny Cash, Son Volt, Old 97′s, Jimmy Rodgers, Murder By Death, The Carter Family and Lead Belly.
